Our Students Had a Summer to Remember!

We asked them to participate in the Challenge of the Summer and document their summer using Canva, tell their stories through photos and words, and show us what made their summer uniquely theirs. And let’s just say… they understood the assignment.

From big adventures to simple summer days, our students gave us a little peek into their worlds—and apparently, they know how to have a pretty great summer.

Some headed to Cancún. Others explored Universal Studios. A few toured colleges and got a glimpse of what the future might hold. One student even took part in a stage production of Annie!

And then there was the student who visited a cheese castle.

Yes, you read that correctly.

A. Cheese. Castle.

Are you as jealous as we are?

There were also adventures across the country, including crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, trying indoor skydiving, and even filming a Star Wars commercial. Others kept things a little closer to home by picking strawberries, enjoying time outside, or simply soaking up a slower summer.

And honestly? Some of our favorite summer moments were the simplest ones.

There were students who spent their days watching movies, playing Minecraft, building with LEGOs, and enjoying some much-needed time at home. Because a summer well spent doesn't always require a plane ticket or an adrenaline rush. Sometimes, it's just about doing the things you love with the people you love.

The best part? Every project looked completely different.

That's exactly what we hoped for. We weren't looking for perfect summers or extravagant adventures—we wanted to see their summers. Their photos. Their stories. Their creativity. Their personalities. And they delivered.

So, grab your imaginary scrapbook and take a little trip through just a FEW of our incredible students' summers. You might leave with a couple new bucket-list ideas… and maybe a serious craving for cheese.
